Hello My Name Is...Mr. Penner
Professional Biography
I've always had passion for the outdoors and living things. I have been teaching science for 22 years, 17 in district. In 2005 I was able to come back to Cowlitz county where I grew up. I now live and play in Castle Rock. I currently teach Biology, Honors Biology, Science Foundations, Field Ecology, and Advisory but have in the past taught Biology COE, Physical Science, and Earth Science. I am the current Science club and Knowledge Bowl adviser.
I attended Mark Morris high school back in the day. Graduate studies were at Western Washington University where I received a Masters in Education and Bachelors in Biology with minor in Chemistry. I am endorsed to teach grades 4 through 12 and subjects of Biology and General Science. A General Science endorsement qualifies a teacher to teach any science subject.
Over the last 17 years I've become involved with many local groups. On a personal note, my wife and I are fortunate to have two awesome children. I enjoy gardening, fishing, hiking, and many other activities.
